What is “BE The Whale”?

BE The Whale project was created to raise awareness for the endangered species across the nation by providing scholarships to young artists. The late Jan Jagoe, the founder of The River Gallery and the BE The Whale project, made an impact in the lives of students in over 10 states through the program.

The project has raised awareness for endangered species in Oregon, Washington, Montana, California, New Mexico, and other states across the nation. Keep Jan’s vision alive today by spreading awareness about the endangered wildlife in your area.
