Hidden Treasure

Jan Jagoe's Hidden Treasure photograph was the poster girl for the Hidden Treasures Glass Float Hunt along the Florence Beaches. Developed to encourage tourism in the Florence area, glass floats are tagged and hidden along the beaches and in the dunes. When a beachcomber finds a float, the finders-keepers rule stands, but they must bring the float into a designated store to register it. With the count and the information collected from found floats, the Florence business owners know the event attracts much-needed tourism for the area. Our visitors enjoy a trip to the coast and get to take home a beautiful hand-blown float - a piece of glass art made by local glass blowers.
